lollardfishSo I was discussing Abelard and Heloise today in class. I read to the students one of my favorite quotations from Abelard's description of the affair:
"We exchanged more kisses than learned propositions; my hands returned more often to her bosom than to our books."
A man walked by and heard me, turned his head, and shouted, laughing, "This is the religion department!"
Oops. I should have shut the door.
