Dinner at Da Fiore

I just posed, to Chowhound, a response to my Dad's chowhound report a lengthy commentary on my trip to Da Fiore, Venice's poshest restaurant. It was astoundingly good. I ate too much. I paid for it a bit later. I had fried cream for desert! We had amarettos and took a moonlit gondola ride after, though the route was a bit short because the moon was full and the tide was high, and the gondola simply won't turn under a lot of the bridges when the tide is high. But the gondolier was nice and non-arrogant (unlike a lot of them), and we chatted in Italian and I translated.

Gondola rides are keen. I should have tried harder to talk my parents into taking one. The city just looks different at that level, and on boat is really the way to navigate the canals, as that's how it was designed to work.

Anyway, the hour is late and my stomach is full, but just thought I'd post this link.
