We just finished listening to Donna Leon's "Acqua Alta," another one of her Venetian mystery novels, and your comment on Venice's rain, the clashing umbrellas confirms her descriptions of the many rain storms and the effect on clothing -- wet feet (water sloshing into boots) seems to be a residential hazard of living in this wonderful city!
Also watched "Italian for Beginners," a Danish film about a group of people taking Italian lessons who end up taking a trip to Venice together, so it ends with wonderful scenes on the piazza that reminded us, again, of our wonderful week with David in September!
