Friends,

I have accepted a tenure-track job offer at Dominican University. I'll be moving at the end of July, teaching a 3/3 course load (typical for such institutions), and be one of two Europeanists in a small history department.

Dominican is a great place with a strong sense of purpose, a beautiful facility, and a lot of great people. I'm thrilled to be about to become a part of it - although very sad about leaving Minnesota. Still, this is a great day, a milestone towards which I have been working a very long time.

I give you a hearty congratulations on this...I know how much work you've done to make this happen, and I have to say that it's been a huge pleasure to watch (and read) you as you've been on this path for the past few years...While I will miss your company, your music and your general smartypantness, I am very sure this is completely a Good Thing for you, as well as Shannon and Mr. Rockstar...

I guess once you move, it'll mean that we've got the midwest covered...Between the Cities, Madison and Chicago, it's a veritable musical roadtrip...
