Nice song -- so will we be hearing you sing it?

Excellent! [livejournal.com profile] mmerriam and I saw them on Prairie Home Companion (on PBS) a while back, and really enjoyed them. Thanks for bringing them back to my attention.

Yeah, one of mine, too. The band I play with in the UP does it. I liked it and learned it. I've only done it once in music circle, though.

Well I hope you'll do it in the future!

Oh my god, mine too. A first-class ear worm.

Its biggest rival for me, lately, has been "New Railroad" by Crooked Still.

I first heard "Wagon Wheel" while driving to the Folk Festival in Manitoba, and it stuck in my head. An ear worm, as you say. And then two weeks ago at the weekly jam at the Farmer's Market (so weird to be jamming at 8:30 in the morning, but whatever. Wholesome folks), someone played it.

And thanks! I haven't seen that one. I love Crooked Still and have been working with their traditional songs to bolster my bluegrass/old-time repertoire to fit in with the local jam session.

I thought this when I saw them this summer, but am reminded by the video - I wished they mixed her vocals higher live. It's fine on their CDs, but she has such a clear perfect voice - I'd love it a little more front.
