Up early and off to the hospital. Today they put tubes in my son's ears.

my mom has worked for an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist for 20 years. it's a VERY easy procedure that takes no time at all. it's the prep and anaesthetic that's takes the time.

not that it takes away from having your child having a procedure done.

Yeah. Mostly it's just early in the AM

I hope it goes as well for him and makes him as happy as it did for my goddaughter.

Are these the grommets to help his hearing? Great.

Exactly. They suck the liquid out, stick the tubes in, and hopefully helps everything hear better. And then speech follows, in theory.

How long do the tubes stay in?

I was wondering that, too.

Here's my OBCuteKidStory: I am told that Henry, (nearly two, and only now hitting his language acquisition stride, which surprises me as my kids talked much earlier) on being driven on the parkway, recognized the area as being near our house and asked, "Gehmma?" No, his mom explained, not sure what he meant, he'd just left (the other) Grandma's house. Just to be clear he asked again, "Gehmma Lovey?"

Because I call him my little lovey every time I see him....

K. [insert happy little sigh of delight]

Fantastic. Kids are the neatest things.:)

I've heard that some kids talk later when their parents talk more. I fully expect Nico to be quite until he moves out.:)

Until they fall out. 1-2 years.

Good luck.

Fortunately, they take the youngest first, so we were home by 8:45. And they gave him a little codeine, so we napped until 11 together.
