The next time I have to teach a class will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. It'll be a busy day. I'll have come back from Europe the night before, we'll be jetlagged, and there's no way we'll have unpacked. And yet, off I'll go to Dominican and teach three classes on my swank new Tuesday-Thursday teaching schedule. Shannon will probably have a class that night.

This semester was five-days a week, and annoyingly in the middle of the day all days. What that means is that every day was a class-prep. day and it was hard to get other work done. But it's behind me now. I have some exams and papers to grade coming in next week, but the semester is over!

It's a nice morning. Shannon is sleeping in (she's had to shoulder most of the childcare this week, as I've been sick and overwhelmed with end-of-semester duties). Nico is eating blueberries. It's sort of chilly in a nice spring way.

If I had to move my party to the weekend before, could you still make it?

No. Wait is that necessary? I took off the weekend of the 5th through the 9th. Don't tell me it has to move? Are you still going to be in town the 5th through the 9th at any point?

Don't know yet. The events scheduled for the weekend before have moved to that weekend. But knowing that switching is hard for you -- is it impossible, or just hard? -- will help me figure out what to do.

She's currently napping, so I'll answer in case it's time sensitive.

As of now, she works Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday (with classes Tuesday and Thursday nights). She's taken the 5th-9th off and will skip class on the 5th. We'll drive down, party, drive back. We'll still come, of course, even if you have to move your party around.

I doubt, at this juncture, she'll be able to take the 29th-2nd off instead, but I'll point her to this post when she wakes up and get her thoughts.

It is likely impossible. I can check but I really don't think it will happen. One of the other managers has already claimed the weekend before.
