Assuming that which seems likely to happen does happen (i.e. Obama has enough delegate by then), he plans to have a huge rally at the Xcel in St. Paul on Tuesday. I love the idea of Obama starting his official election campaign in the site of the Repug convention.

I still think the Democrats should have held their convention in New Orleans, not Denver, but whatever.

Ooo, that would be pleasantly evil considering the Bushite response to the hurricane. Didn't that Youtube video on McCain show Bush celebrating McCain's birthday rather than being on the ball in "Naw-Lins"

Yeah. Right after he said, "If I were president, I would have gotten on Airforce 1 and gone right to New Orleans" or something. Except that he was right next to Airforce 1, having cake.

I agree, and I said that as soon as I heard about it being in Denver. Of course, the most likely reason that they didn't do it is that the 2008 contract was probably signed even before Katrina, and they couldn't get out of it without huge penalties. But it would have been a way to send a really strong signal to the entire country: which party cares more about domestic troubles?
