How to Win in Iraq

Read this article.

It's long, it's not very rosy, it's the first plan I've read that makes sense to me.

On the other hand, see how the NY Times compares Iraqization by Bush to Vietnamization by Nixon, which is where I got the Krepinevich reference.

Like Vietnam

I'm afraid it's all over except for the shouting. This time, we're losing on strict monitary policies. There is no will left for Standard Oil.

That's also good, thanks. I just liked the long Krepinevich because it was a plan to win that seemed militarily possible. It's just not politically feasible.

This article on Iraq is also well-worth reading.

I would agree that the oil spot plan is the most feasible. In fact, it makes me sick that we haven't been doing it all along. Hunting down and killing insurgents *never* works, god, you'd think people would learn *sob*!

'Course it makes me sick we went in in the first place.
