Car broken into last night. Nothing taken, just rummaged through.

I hate them.

Roomate's car was treated worse.

Now, this isn't a problem as I'm buying a new car, except that now I don't really want to buy a new car until we move.

I wish I could move June 1.

Really it's the neighborhood. I think it costs more to get insurance here than most of Minneapolis because of the high theft rate. People aren't bright enough to realize that in most cases people live around here because they don't have money. So breaking into their cars is really a waste of time.

This so bites. We never tried to own a car in the city, but from watching those who did, we determined it was just a matter of time before it got stolen completely. My advice to anyone owning a car is to ensure for theft/unusability based on whether or not you can afford to be without the car. Of course, if they then intend to charge you 8 zillion dollars, that doesn't help.

Such insurance when your car is worth no more than $500 is not cost effective, really.
