My favorite sports (sort-of) author had a long email interview with the writers of Rounders, the best poker movie ever. I imagine a number of you would really enjoy it:

Cool! Thanks for pointing that out, will definitely give it a read as I really like that movie and I also enjoy Simmons.

$200 on a pair of queens... is this an open game?

Once when I was in Vegas (sounds like the start of a fairy tale) there were two guys sitting across from me who couldn't quit talking about Rounders and how cool it was. I made $120 in 3 hours.

Rounders has, therefore, a warm place in my heart.

'Big Hand for the Little Lady', however is a much better movie for a movie that has a plot revolving around poker. Those dudes in rounders can join my table any time at whatever stakes they like. Please. Pretty please? With a cherry?

Yes, none of them "sound" like the poker pros I know "sound" when they talk about poker. And they are all wealthy from non-poker-related activity. I'm sure the pros regard them as big fish.

Still, Rounders is a pretty good poker movie, and it did become the iconic movie of the current poker craze.

I've never seen 'Big Hand for the Little Lady.' sounds fun.

The cast list is all star (starts at Henry Fonda and works it's way down) and the plot is pure poker (western style). I'd recomend it just as a movie regardless of the associations.
