I took that (placing it there with no hint of its meaning) as a subtle continuation of the jargon in the thesis thread, which did not encourage me to look up its meaning.

So, Ok, I'm running a Nobilis game, and we have characters that are the Powers of Luck and Folktales, and I'm trying to figure out how to tie them in with the plot of the Power of Rot (who's currently involved with the Power of Salt...)
And the answer is right here where David put it: apotropaic!
Plot ideas are now fomenting in my mind, or maybe that's fermenting, since Rot is in the picture...
