I just donated $15 to Obama/Biden. I'm not sure I've ever donated to a political campaign before.

It feels good. And is the least I can do.

We've got to win this one.

Thank you for doing "the least you could". If you truly believe that this is that important, please, find a way to do the most you can. This is a sentiment that you'll be running across from me in other LJs as well. B. thinks I am strident and nasty about making this point, but my heart tells me that "we've got to win this one", too.

I will be working on the campaign full time starting next week, and until the new baby comes. Maybe longer; it'll depend on how mom and baby are doing, of course. Not to mention the big brother.

I agree, I'm just not sure what the "most I can" is. It's not more financial giving, really.

What I am really trying to do is to write something and get it published. It's a hard thing for me to write, but I'll try to finish it tonight.

I agree. Sometimes it's hard figuring out what the 'most' you can do is.

I see real needs in the campaign, but no way to really help solve them, except to write them polite letters with strong suggestions.

We're trying to juggle time so that one member of the family can give meaningful time in our nearest swing state, but it's hard with the presses of family.

We've considered that half our available money should go to Obama and perhaps half to the nastiest attack-dog group (on our side) that we can find, but we're not sure who that is yet.

If you figure out who the attack-dog group is, let me know. Moveon.org is not it.

Yeah, we've come to the same conclusion.

Did you see this?

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/09/biden.special.needs/index.html

WHY THE HELL AREN'T THE DEMOCRATS PUTTING OUT TALKING POINTS OT THE MEDIA EVERY DAMNED DAY ABOUT WHAT PALIN AND MCCAIN ARE SAYING?

Republican daily talking point. TOTAL BS. Now it's a headline.

No, sorry, I need to froth at the mouth about this a bit longer:

a) Biden is RIGHT

b) Palin offered nothing concrete in her speech (typical of this campaign -- offer no plans so there is nothing to attack!) but she did throw down the gauntlet so SHE POLITICIZED IT

c) wake up! Stem cell research has been a political issue for YEARS
