This kind of story is both wonderful and terrible. It has the potential to send me tumbling out of the world of comfortable acceptance and peace into a strange land called hope. But hopes can be dashed.

Yes, I think we would. But it's on that "bridge we haven't burned" yet planet, and one of the keys of coping, for me, is to not borrow trouble from the future. Plenty of challenges in the here and tomorrow.
