I took that (placing it there with no hint of its meaning) as a subtle continuation of the jargon in the thesis thread, which did not encourage me to look up its meaning.

So, Ok, I'm running a Nobilis game, and we have characters that are the Powers of Luck and Folktales, and I'm trying to figure out how to tie them in with the plot of the Power of Rot (who's currently involved with the Power of Salt...)

Fate. I've read that book at least four times (it's the best book on San Marco), and never really read that little piece before, or noticed the word. It's a great word.
