99 songs I know
Jun. 15th, 2008 02:47 pmHere's a list of 99 or so songs I know. I have other lists of songs I used to know. And still other lists of songs I used to know but don't really want to know. And still other lists of songs I never knew but would like to. And there's a huge batch of pub songs I've not bothered to list. But here's 99 songs I know.
What did I leave out that I should remember?

Date: 2008-06-15 08:52 pm (UTC)there is a band named common rotation, which i have been wishing people would learn songs from. i have no idea if they are good for music parties or covering or whatnot, but if you are looking to hear new songs, that might be a good place to start.
http://www.theunionmaid.com/ has samples of various quality.
uh, i could go on but i'm about to be late for dinner.

I really liked Common Rotation when I got to see them at Gingko in St. Paul a couple years back. I have some of their stuff on my iPod.:)

I've always thought people should learn some songs by Paul Westerberg and/or The Replacements ... You might try "Love Untold" or "Angels Walk" from the album Eventually. Or "Dyslexic Heart" available on the album "The Resterberg." They're all in the iTunes music store or I can burn you copies if you'd like.

From:Steve Goodman biography
Date: 2008-06-17 08:56 pm (UTC)You can find out more at my Internet site (below). Amazingly, the book's first printing sold out in just eight months, all 5,000 copies, and a second printing of 5,000 is available now. The second printing includes hundreds of little updates and additions, including 30 more photos for a total of 575. It just won a 2008 IPPY (Independent Publishers Association) silver medal for biography: http://www.independentpublisher.com/article.php?page=1231. To order a second-printing copy, see the "online store" page of my site. Just trying to spread word about the book. Feel free to do the same!
